Sarah Lorenzini is a passionate Rapid Response Nurse and educator who brings energy and expertise to the nursing community. As the host of the “Rapid Response RN Podcast,” she captivates listeners with gripping real-life emergency stories from her 20+ years in nursing, while breaking down complex concepts in pathophysiology and pharmacology and highlighting the crucial role of nurses in healthcare. In fact, she was voted the 2025 Nursing Podcast Host of the Year by Nurse.org and continues to be a top ranking medical podcast.

Sarah’s nursing journey started in the Emergency Department at the ripe old age of 19, she has since worked in the Cardiovascular ICU, as a Nursing Professor, ER Unit Educator, and now as a Rapid Response Supervisor of a Beacon Awarded Team.

When she's not saving lives or inspiring fellow nurses, Sarah is out adventuring with her husband and their five kids, crocheting an impressive collection of blankets and scarves (despite living in sunny Florida), and hosting lively gatherings for family and friends.

Sarah is also a self-proclaimed extreme extrovert and people person, lover of being by the water, plant mom, chips and queso enthusiast, and boba tea connoisseur.

Dr. Donna Gaffney is a Los Angeles–based psychotherapist and psychiatric mental health clinical nurse specialist. A resident of Pacific Palisades, she was directly affected by the 2025 wildfires, an experience that deepened her lifelong commitment to trauma-informed care and community recovery. For decades, Donna has worked at the intersection of trauma, loss, and resilience, supporting adults, children, and healthcare professionals. Her practice emphasizes growth-promoting strategies that foster healing after trauma, often integrating the arts and curating creative practices that open pathways to expression and renewal.

During the pandemic, Donna provided pro bono psychotherapy to healthcare professionals, through the Emotional PPE Project and continues to facilitate Virtual Schwartz Rounds for the New Jersey Nursing Emotional Well-Being Institute and Don’t Clock Out, based in Los Angeles. She holds master’s degrees from Teachers College at Columbia University and Rutgers University, and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Her post-graduate training includes the International Trauma Studies Program.

In addition to her current appointment as an Affiliated Professor at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City, Donna previously served on the faculty at Columbia University. She is the author of Courageous Well-Being for Nurses: Strategies for Renewal (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2023) and The Seasons of Grief: Helping Children Grow Through Loss.
