Right in our town - Penn Medicine LGH is experiencing a tragedy.

We are heartbroken by the news of our local hospital colleagues that were faced with on August 13, 2026

Our goal is to walk alongside these teams, giving them multiple opportunities to receive support. This is exactly why Rekindled Nurse exists: to care for nurses not only in the everyday challenges of healthcare, but especially when they experience something traumatic.

Our Efforts include -

• Grief Support Bags filled with evidence-based resources and tangible tools to help them navigate grief and difficult emotions

• Debriefing sessions through our partners at Debriefing the Front Lines, available throughout the month so nurses have a safe space to process what happened

• A one time group session with a trauma therapist to provide additional professional support (more to come)

• Bi-weekly emotional support meals with resource cards reminding nurses that they are not alone

• Additional Mental Health resources to help - Operation Happy Nurse, Victory Church in Lancaster PA for prayer, Suicide & Crisis Hotline call or text 988, Debriefing the Frontlines, Holy Ground Healthcare, Leg Up Farm Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Program

Our goals are to create psychological safety, build trust & acknowledge the trauma from the devastating events they’ve experienced.

We are in need of volunteers, meals/food, gifts and financial support to make an impact for the staff.
