Rekindled Frontlines Relief Outreach: Showing Up in the Hard
In November 2024, after devastating hurricanes swept through Florida, Rekindled Nurse and Debriefing the Frontlines mobilized to bring light, love, and tangible care to nurses serving on the frontlines of the crisis.
Through the help of generous donors and community partners, we delivered:
Over 350 care packages filled with comfort items, snacks, and handwritten notes
In-person encouragement and support visits to affected hospitals and clinics
Connection and community in the midst of chaos
This outreach reminded us: even in the hardest moments, showing up with heart makes all the difference. These nurses weren’t just doing their jobs—they were holding up their communities. And we were honored to hold them up in return.
What We Did
Delivered 350+ care packages filled with comfort items, snacks, & handwritten encouragement
Provided in-person support visits to affected hospitals and clinics
Mobilized with donors, volunteers, and partners in just 6 weeks
Why it Mattered
Nurses were working through personal loss, power outages, and staffing shortages—still showing up for their patients
A warm presence by fellow nurses brought a sense of normalcy, relatability and deep gratitude during long, uncertain shifts
Simply showing up and saying “we see you” brought tears, relief, and connection
It reminded us what’s possible when community comes together to support our own

Courtney Kindrew & Tara Kosmas
Registered Nurses and Executive Directors of their non-profits, Rekindled Nurse & Debriefing the Frontlines, Courtney & Tara have big hearts for nurses. Their mission is to ensure nurses are cared for, supported and reminded of their value at and way from the bedside. After the first SWFL Outreach trip in 2024, they new they had to continue this supportive mission to hospitals and communities throughout the United States making this a yearly outreach caring for and providing peer support to nurses everywhere.
